The CORE Intensive is a residential, two-day trauma-recovery experience for men who want to better understand how past experiences may still be shaping their emotions, relationships, choices, and daily lives. The weekend offers a structured and supportive setting where participants can step away from everyday demands, reflect on the patterns they have developed, and begin exploring a more intentional way of living.
Trauma recovery is not only about understanding what happened. It can also involve recognizing how the body and nervous system learned to respond, identifying patterns that once helped us survive, and practicing new ways of relating to ourselves and others.
The intensive combines education, personal reflection, group connection, body-based practices, nature, and experiential work.
Throughout the weekend, participants will be supported in developing greater awareness of their emotional and physical responses, practical tools for regulation and resilience, a clearer understanding of recurring patterns, and new possibilities for connection, purpose, and personal responsibility.
Participants learn how trauma can affect the brain, nervous system, emotions, relationships, and behavior. Understanding these responses can reduce shame and help people recognize that many patterns developed for understandable reasons.
Participants are introduced to practical strategies for recognizing and responding to stress, activation, shutdown, or emotional overwhelm. These practices are intended to support greater steadiness and choice.
Somatic work focuses on the connection between the mind and body. Participants may be invited to notice physical sensations, breathing, posture, movement, tension, and other bodily responses connected to emotion and stress.
Experiential approaches allow participants to explore emotions, beliefs, relationships, and personal patterns through guided activities rather than discussion alone.
